Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles. This role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely, providing excellent service to our customers.
Duties
* Assemble and maintain HGVs, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.
* Perform equipment repairs, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
* Utilise power tools and welding equipment for repairs and modifications.
* Read and interpret schematics to understand vehicle systems and components.
* Conduct routine inspections and servicing of vehicles to maintain compliance with safety standards.
* Defect management - Predrive in use (Training provided)
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
* Assist in the training of junior technicians, sharing knowledge of best practices in vehicle maintenance.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
* Proficiency in using power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret technical schematics effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A valid HGV 1 driving licence/CPC/DIGI card (road testing/MOT presentation)
* Availability every 2nd Sat (Primarily for rountine inspections/ Transport fleet defect repairs)

Pay: £31,473.28-£50,665.29 per year
