About the Role
An international bank is seeking a Vice President to join its Credit Department, supporting the development of a newly established Work Out Team. This function will play a critical role in overseeing the management and control of problem asset exposures across the organisation’s European operations.
While the position formally sits within the Work Out function, the successful candidate will also contribute to sub-investment grade corporate credit analysis and reviews, as workflow allows.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare analytical, well-structured credit recommendations on problem asset strategies and restructuring options for senior approvers.
* Present and articulate credit opinions to internal stakeholders.
* Assess and challenge analysis prepared by Front Office teams.
* Monitor exposures, credit costs, and classifications such as forbearance, default, Unlikeliness to Pay, and non-performing status.
* Analyse Front Office credit applications, identifying and articulating key credit risks and potential mitigants.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced corporate credit professional with a strong understanding of complex financial structures and distressed or problem assets.
Essential skills and experience:
* Significant experience in corporate credit risk gained within a major financial institution or international bank.
* Deep understanding of corporate loan products, trade finance, and derivative products.
* Proven knowledge of restructuring and work-out processes.
* Degree-level education and/or relevant professional qualifications, supported by strong credit training.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join a leading global financial institution at a pivotal time, contributing to the development of a key risk management function. You’ll have exposure to complex credit portfolios, senior stakeholders, and strategic decision-making at a high level.
