About the Role
As an Audit Manager, you will play a key role within the audit department, managing a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. You will report directly to the Partner and be supported by a team of Audit Seniors, overseeing audits from planning through to completion. This is a varied and hands-on position that combines technical excellence with leadership and client relationship management.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a varied and interesting portfolio of clients across a range of industries
Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring effective resource allocation
Undertaking non-audit assignments, including accounts preparation under UK GAAP
Managing jobs to realistic budgets and timeframes
Demonstrating strong technical knowledge in audit and accounting standards
Building strong relationships with clients and providing trusted advisory support
Supervising and mentoring junior team members, conducting regular reviews and appraisals
Identifying cross-selling and business development opportunities
Supporting Partners with client proposals and departmental development
Staying up to date with legislative, technical, and regulatory changes, and sharing knowledge within the team
RequirementsAbout You
We are seeking a proactive and confident Audit Manager who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to take ownership of their portfolio.
Essential skills and experience:
ACA or ACCA Qualified
Substantial recent experience in an audit-focused role
Advanced technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards
Proven experience managing audits from planning to completion
Experience supervising or mentoring team members
Knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, CCH, or CaseWare
Strong Excel skills
Excellent communication, organisation, and client relationship management skills
Ability to travel to client sites when required
