As our Clinical Lead Doctor, you will play a pivotal role in transforming lives and leading a dedicated team of addiction specialists. This part-time position offers 14.8 hours per week with flexible working arrangements to fit your lifestyle.
Your Responsibilities
As the Clinical Lead, you will:
* Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
* Drive service development and innovation.
* Advise on policy development and implementation.
* Champion research initiatives to enhance clinical guidance and service protocols.
* Collaborate with Turning Point colleagues nationwide to optimize patient care.
* Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
* Embrace teaching opportunities for students across the multidisciplinary team.
You will also treat our most complex patients by:
* Offering expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning.
* Accepting referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
* Providing oversight of psychosocial support based on comprehensive research knowledge.
* Introducing innovative interventions to enhance outcomes.
* Conducting complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments.
* Collaborating with stakeholders, including HM Coroners courts and probation services.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We are seeking an experienced doctor with a passion for service delivery and development. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills are essential for this role.
The successful candidate will need to be accredited as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment and should meet one of the following criteria:
* Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction.
* Have equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
* Listed on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training in addiction/substance use.
* Fulfill the criteria of a specialty doctor in Addictions with suitable experience.
