Responsibilities
* Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing ingredients, cooking components of dishes, and assembling plates according to recipes and specifications.
* Manage a designated section of the kitchen, such as sauces, vegetables, or desserts, under the guidance of the Chef de Partie.
* Ensure food quality and presentation by adhering to portioning and plating standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area, including workstations and equipment.
* Support team collaboration by coordinating tasks and communicating effectively with other kitchen staff.
* Handle food ingredients properly, following hygiene and safety procedures to ensure freshness and quality.
* Assist in training junior staff and commis chefs, providing guidance and support.
* Monitor inventory and stock levels for your section, reporting shortages and assisting with orders.
* Participate in quality control measures, including taste testing and visual inspection of dishes.
Safety And Company Policies
* Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
* Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
* Complete safety training and certifications.
* Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
* Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
* Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
* Support the team to reach common goals.
* Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
