Project Manager
6 month contract
Up to £550 per day, inside IR35
Field based role - based mainly in Cheshire
What is the Role?
Our client in the Energy industry is seeking a Project Manager (PM) who’ll have responsibility and accountability for Safety Health and Wellbeing, compliance, programme delivery, commercial & cost control and quality management of several high value, complex projects across their Distributed Energy business areas which include Electric Vehicle (EV), Smart Cities, Heating and Cooling, Private Wire and ICP Business Sectors.
The PM will lead on the construction and operational aspects of project development. Ensuring that each project is reviewed in a robust manner for the integrity of the project team structure, construction framework partner requirements, optimum construction costs and associated programme.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accountability for ensuring that the Safety Management System & Risk Management requirements are covered within the contractor supply chain frameworks and for each project
- Responsible for the construction delivery of capital or customer projects within the Electric Vehicle (EV), Smart Cities, Heating and Cooling Private Wire and ICP sectors within the UK Construction Team
- Ensuring that all your Projects are managed in line with the Commercial & Contractual agreements that are in place with clients and subcontractors and also provide key support to the development teams in defining project structures in terms of cost, development of capability and reduction of business risk in order to support and protect the business
- Supporting the procurement process for the on-boarding of a Contractor base of competent, cost effective, best in class partners
- Developing and managing the construction portfolio of relevant sector projects finances effectively by ensuring that each project is accurately forecasted and financially reported
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Industry recognized Project Management qualifications - PRINCE 2/APMP Professional
- Demonstrable successful track record of delivering large, complex projects
- Extensive experience in enacting a PM role within sectors mentioned - Smart Cities, EV, Heating and Cooling, Private Wire, ICP and DG&S
- Demonstrable experience of working under commercial contract frameworks such as NEC3/4 DOM2 etc.
- Health and safety – SMSTS / NEBOSH / IOSH accreditation
- Knowledge and understanding of EHV and HV grid connections
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with partners, customers and key stakeholders at all levels
- Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is required.
