Overview
Port Security Officer role with shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (days, nights and weekends). Pay rate £12.60 per hour. Contracted to 48 hours a week. 20 days holiday.
Responsibilities
* Protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any changes.
* Deliver results that meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, aiding in contract retention.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
* Be aware of and ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Proactively review AI's and changes to suggest amendments that improve the current service.
* Maintain required front-line licences (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA Licence; complete any additional required courses.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements; follow instructions and procedures appropriately; work in a systematic and orderly manner.
* Complete required competency training and renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
* Look out for and report Health & Safety hazards; stay alert to threats or changes; involve others in potentially threatening situations as needed.
* Maintain professional conduct during difficult situations and challenging customers; keep a detailed incident notebook for the Incident Report process.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time and call emergency services / Communication Centre to report incidents.
Qualifications and What We Are Looking For
* Previous Security Experience
* SIA License essential
* Full driving licence (some roles require driving onsite)
* SC Clearance desirable
