Therole
Fugro is now seeking a Staff Geophysicist tojoin the Geoscience team which is part of the Marine Geoconsultingteam based at our offices in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. This is anexceptional opportunity to work as part of a global team on marinesite characterisation and engineering projects, performinggeophysical data interpretation and reporting.
Here's what a typical day would belike:
* Using interpretation workstations tointerpret and integrate geophysical data (from multiple seabed andsub-seabed geophysical data sets) with geological and geotechnicaldata to produce geological and geohazard site appraisals.
* Organising and loading geophysical data,geotechnical data and other relevant information to aninterpretation workstation.
* Assisting in theproduction of geophysical, geohazards and site investigationreports.
* Checking geophysical and geologicalinterpretations and conclusions individually or through peer assistsessions.
Who we're lookingfor:
Essential
* A degree in Geophysics, Geology or arelated discipline.
* A knowledge of marinegeophysical survey techniques.
* Computerliteracy, including use of spreadsheets, databases and wordprocessing software.
* A good communicator (bothverbally and written) who is able to deliver results for internaland externalclients.
* Ability to workeffectively in a team environment. A good team player and able toform working relationships with clients and colleagues at alllevels.
Desirable
* Experience of interpretinggeophysical data sets.
* Experience ofgeophysical interpretation workstations such as Kingdom or similar.
