Overview
The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team in ensuring that the food is prepared, delivered and the department is cleaned to the highest standard. Previous catering and barista training is desirable for this post. Successful post holders will be responsible for the provision of catering services within Hollies Restaurant and Cafe and for ensuring that areas are safe and hygienic at all times. All staff would be part of a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times regardless of the situation. The post holders will also be expected to be flexible to the needs of the service.
Responsibilities
* Work under the direction of the Retail Services Supervisor/Manager and assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetising meals and snacks for staff and visitors, according to planned menu using specified recipes, methods and systems for cook-chill catering to the highest possible standards (nutritional content, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene, safety and allergen regulations).
* Be involved in the preparation of all retail and buffet products, adhering strictly to standard recipes, methods and production planning.
* Ensure high standards of food quality from point of purchase to meal preparation, cooking and service, with quality control processes throughout.
* Operate electronic tills and handle cash as part of service operations.
* Work within the coffee shop outlet after full training with barista-style machines.
* Assist in temperature monitoring and recording of all produced meals/foodstuffs and food storage equipment in accordance with Catering Department policies and HACCP standards.
* Assist with receipt, quality assurance and stock control of goods.
Qualifications
* Previous catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
* Sound knowledge of food hygiene regulations.
* Demonstrate a can-do attitude.
* Excellent communication and customer care skills.
* Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene.
