Opportunity for Operations Manager - Cat Herder - Diplomat and Despot. Carnagat based Resonate Testing is an ambitious, cutting-edge mechanical and environmental test facilitator. Our services support a wide range of industries including mission-critical components and systems, in high-performance testing for high-growth markets such as the Space, Battery, Automotive and Aerospace sectors ensuring they meet the most rigorous standards for durability, safety, and performance.
Resonate Testing is seeking a proactive and organised Operations Manager to lead coordination, compliance, and customer engagement across its dynamic test service operations. This role is central to ensuring smooth enquiry handling, resource planning, and quality assurance in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Job Title: Operations Manager
Start Date: Sept/ Oct 2025
Salary Range: £34,000+ per annum (commensurate with experience)
Reporting To: Managing Director

Responsibilities

As Operations Manager, you’ll be the central hub for coordinating test enquiries, managing customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across our facility. You’ll work closely with technical teams, clients, and external partners to deliver high-quality testing services with precision, flexibility, and compliance
Testing Coordination and Resource Planning
* Capture technical requirements and assess capability and resource availability.
* Coordinate staff and testing calendars, including holidays.
* Manage test item handling and disposition with accurate records.
Enquiry and Contract Management
* Alias with and respond to customer enquiries.
* Set agendas and promote Resonate Testing’s capabilities.
* Maintain enquiry and sales activity registers.
* Ensure clear internal and external communication channels
Financial and Procurement Activities
* Support the organisation in the generation and tracking of quotations.
* Manage purchase orders for internal and external testing services.
Quality and Safety Oversight
* Support the company's efforts to maintain Health & Safety standards.
* Support the company's efforts to maintain internal auditing, and UKAS/ISO compliance.
* Support the company's efforts to maintain equipment calibration and conduct risk assessments.
Personnel Development and Outreach
* Evaluate staff competencies and maintain training records.
* Collaborate on staff assessments and recruitment.
* Engage with schools and SRC for work experience and apprenticeships.
Qualifications and Experience
* A professional or education higher level qualification is preferable.
* Ability to demonstrate a proactive, customer-focused, and detail-oriented approach.
* Ability to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills
* Familiarity with controlling and taming what would otherwise be chaos.
