Salary: Up to £28,917 per annum, plus a company car!

Location: Wakefield

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? Do you thrive in a role where no two days are the same? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Mears Housing Management is seeking dedicated and compassionate Resident Welfare Officers to help vulnerable individuals avoid homelessness and move into settled accommodation.

As a Resident Welfare Officer, you will provide hands-on, pastoral, floating support to service users, assisting them in managing and sustaining their interim accommodation and guiding them towards stable housing.


About The Role

The Resident Welfare Officer role involves administrative, practical, and supportive tasks focused on housing and well-being. It requires strong organizational and communication skills, with a balance of administrative duties and hands-on support.

This is a field-based role, provided with a Company Car. Holding a full UK driving license is essential.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Conduct face-to-face support sessions on health, finance, repairs, and move-on processes.
* Identify and report safeguarding concerns.
* Maintain detailed records and report incidents.
* Manage your diary efficiently and work independently.
* Oversee property maintenance and repairs.
* Assist with property turnovers, cleaning, and inspection of repairs.
* Support service users with appointments and essential tasks.
* Arrange food parcels and necessities.
* Maintain relationships with probation services, liaising weekly.


Role Criteria

* Experience with vulnerable individuals or in housing/welfare support roles.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with high standards.
* Proactive, compassionate, and empathetic problem-solving approach.
* Full UK driving license (company car provided).
* Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

All roles require entitlement to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
