Overall Purpose of the Role
Under the direction of a Team Manager, you will deliver high-quality social work services to vulnerable children and families within statutory frameworks. Using the Family Safeguarding model and a strengths-based approach, you will assess need, plan interventions and safeguard children while ensuring their voices and lived experiences shape all decision-making.
Main Accountabilities
Response to Need
* Provide professional leadership and specialist practice skills in complex and high-risk situations.
* Undertake robust assessments leading to clear, outcome-focused SMART plans.
* Ensure the child's voice informs all decisions and interventions.
* Act as lead professional in safeguarding matters, adhering to statutory guidance and child protection procedures.
* Produce high-quality analytical reports for a range of forums, including court.
Partnership Working
* Represent the Council at community level and work collaboratively with partner agencies.
* Develop effective multi-agency plans promoting independence and positive outcomes.
* Share information appropriately to safeguard children and promote welfare.
Professional Development
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policy and practice.
* Maintain Social Work England registration and meet CPD requirements.
* Contribute to workforce development by sharing knowledge and expertise.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, Masters, PG Diploma or fast-track programme).
* Relevant post-qualifying training.
Experience
* Assessing need and delivering effective interventions with children and families.
* Analysing and evaluating complex information.
