The Role
:
1. As the design engineer drafting the conceptual and detailed 3D design of special purpose machinery using Autodesk Inventor (80% of your day will be on CAD)
2. Adapting and innovating existing designs for new projects
3. Creating manufacturing drawings for the sheet metal fabricators on Inventor.
4. Giving guidance and answering questions of 2 junior design engineers.
5. Getting involved in the full project lifecycle on Inventor, from initial concept to motor sizing calculations
The Candidate:
6. Experience designing machinery with moving parts (e.g. Conveyors, SPM, Sortation machinery, heavy sheet metal fabrication).
7. Solid experience in 3D design for manufacturing, particularly with sheet metal fabrication.
8. Open to people with Autodesk Inventor experience or people willing to be trained on the package.
9. Most importantly, you have a helpful, supportive nature. You understand the value of sharing knowledge and are happy to support less experienced team members.
