Responsibilities
This position is split 50/50 between the Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Protection Departments:
Nuclear Medicine
* Man the specialism reception dealing with patients and facilitating their pathway; perform administrative duties.
* Track medical records, answer queries and arrange patient appointments/admissions as necessary; extensive use of the electronic patient record system (EPR) and other associated systems.
* Provide non‑clinical advice to patients and relatives regarding scheduling appointments.
* Coordinate non‑radioactive stock control and departmental ordering and purchasing systems in line with Trust procurement policies.
* Use procurement systems for ordering and invoicing external sites, departments and suppliers.
Radiation Protection
* Manage and organise the QA schedule kept on an Excel spreadsheet, matching staff availability from Outlook to equipment requirements.
* Maintain and update the training database, ensuring data integrity and issuing certification; provide summaries of training provided.
* Schedule staff training sessions, book rooms as necessary, invite the trainees and answer queries.
* Provide the secretariat function to the Trust Radiation Protection Committee (RPC) and ensure smooth running of the RPC.
* Take part in and minute the RP Departmental monthly meetings.
