Overview
As our Food Technician, you will be the heart of the department's practical delivery. From preparing ingredients for KS3 introductory sessions to supporting the complex requirements of GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition and KS5 Food Science & Nutrition, your expertise will ensure that every lesson is safe, organised, and inspiring. You will manage the procurement of fresh ingredients, maintain an accurate inventory of stock, and ensure all equipment is ready for teacher demonstrations and student practicals.
Responsibilities
* Prepare ingredients for KS3 introductory sessions and support GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition and KS5 Food Science & Nutrition.
* Manage procurement of fresh ingredients and maintain an accurate stock inventory.
* Ensure all equipment is ready for teacher demonstrations and student practicals.
* Work with teaching staff to provide technical guidance to students, helping them master cooking techniques and maintain high standards of hygiene.
* Ensure safety and compliance by meeting CLEAPSS and Food Standards Agency guidelines; manage cleaning schedules and monitor food storage to maintain a safe, professional workspace.
* Support the learning journey of young people with attention to detail.
