Java Developer / Software Engineer (Java AWS Kafka) London / WFH to £90k
Are you a bright, ambitious Java technologist who enjoys building systems from scratch?
You could be progressing your career at a global, prime broker that is replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets with a new cloud-native clearing and custody system, designed for today's complex global markets. The company is experiencing great success in the US and is expanding into the UK.
As a Java Developer you will join a small team responsible for building a brand new Futures Trading platform for the UK, primarily using Java with a focus on backend development but also with some React UI work. You'll be working on complex and challenging, highly available mission critical systems in collaboration with Product Managers to understand and define new features and coordinating with other developers with the goal of writing software as one.
You'll be supported to learn and develop your skills by the senior engineer.
Location / WFH:
You'll join a small, highly talented and collaborative team in the London, City office three days a week with flexibility to work from home the other two.
About you:
* You are degree educated in Computer Science or closely related discipline
* You have commercial backend Java development experience including Spring, Spring Boot, microservices
* You have a good knowledge of AWS
* You also have an appreciation of UI development with TypeScript / React
* You take in pride in producing clean, high quality code
* You're familiar with modern software engineering tools such as Kafka, Kubernetes, MongoDB
* You are collaborative and motivated to learn about financial markets and advance your technical knowledge
