Job Title: Refuge Support Worker
Hours: 35 hours per week; 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
Annual salary: £29,174 – £33,079pa, depending on qualifications and experience

Applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
This is a new role and is based in the London Borough of Brent.
The main purpose of the role is to support survivors of domestic abuse by working with them to provide safe accommodation and enabling them to access services to make informed choices about their future while also ensuring that they understand their rights.
We are looking for someone with a relevant qualification such as IDVA or a social work/ health qualification, or at least one year’s experience of working with Asian women in a refuge or other formal setting. An understanding of the intersectional complexities and dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on women from South Asian communities is essential.
You should have demonstrable experience in providing advice and support to Asian women who have experienced domestic abuse, harmful practises and all forms of violence against women and girls. You must be experienced at completing risk assessments and support planning and have a working knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation.
It is essential that you are able to speak fluently in at least one South Asian language.
