Electrical Day Maintenance Engineer - High Wycombe - to £50k plus benefits
My client is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join them on a Data Center site in High Wycombe. You must have critical environments experience and be electrically qualified. This role is Monday to Friday 8-5 and will be on call one week in three.
The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure across our data center site. Key duties include:Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, cooling systems).Monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain uptime and operational efficiency.Supporting client operations and adhering to industry standards.Coordinating with internal teams and vendors for upgrades and incident resolution.Candidate Requirements:Proven experience in data center or mission-critical environments.Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.Ability to work in high-pressure, high-availability settings.Relevant certifications C&G electrical installation parts 1 and 2 preferred.
The successful candidate will be able to apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operations of plant and systems in data centres/critical environments and general office environments.
Key Responsibilities
Able to manage own time and allocate works to other team membersAble to manage costs related to delivery of maintenance activities (specialist and self-perform)Ensuring all client services, computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing and revenue earning services meet client requirements or appropriate SLAsOperate dilapidation and update plans relating to critical environmentsOperate change control process covering business critical areasProvide technical management reports as requiredProvide emergency response standby/call-outMonitor utilities management and environmental programmesSupport critical environment related technical auditsSupport cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.Operate within annual engineering budgets for the maintenance and repair of the servicesResponsibility for ensuring all critical related engineering maintenance documentation/records are kept in clearly identified and retrievable systemsAdvise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirementsPlan Statutory Compliance Maintenance and Testing and report as required the Statutory Compliance Audit Report to the Technical Services ManagerEnsure all PPMs and Critical Facility PPMs are carried out to scheduleMonitor and analyse environmental conditions, review the loading and working conditions of critical equipment regularlyLiaise with the QHSE specialist to ensure audit compliance at all timesEnsure maintenance is carried out in line with H&S procedures, using the permit to work system where applicable and action improvements identified during the building and workplace inspections and reviewsEscalate urgent issues identified through to the Lead Engineer and Engineering Manager
