Customer Order Management Representative
Location: Peterborough (Fully Onsite Initially, Hybrid Later). Contract: 12‑month assignment, strong likelihood of extension. Hours: Full time, Monday‑Friday. Hourly Pay Rate: £15.88.
About the Customer Order Management Representative Role
You will act as the single point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing the entire order lifecycle from setup and entry through to fulfilment, documentation, and issue resolution. You will work closely with customers, manufacturing sites, distribution centres, and internal teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time. The role is for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage assigned customer accounts across the full order lifecycle.
* Process new customer setups, order entry, modifications, and escalations.
* Provide clear, accurate communication and documentation throughout the process.
* Resolve complex customer queries using strong process and systems knowledge.
* Coordinate with manufacturing plants, distribution centres, and internal teams.
* Maintain accurate records of all interactions and order activity.
* Ensure compliance with export policies and prepare required documentation.
* Support quality processes, including submitting non‑conformance claims.
* Prepare and distribute internal and customer reports.
* Support departmental initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
* Participate in or lead process improvement activities.
What We're Looking For: Experience & Background
* 2+ years in Customer Order Management, Customer Service, Account Management, or Supply Chain.
* Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
* Technical affinity or understanding – able to grasp product/parts information.
* Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and internal teams.
