Overview
The Ophthalmic Imaging team at York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals is looking for an enthusiastic individual, passionate about Ophthalmic Imaging, to join our East Coast service. The post holder will deliver high standards of patient care at Scarborough Hospital, Bridlington Hospital and Malton Hospital. This is a full time, permanent position. Scarborough Hospital is entering an exciting period of growth with a brand-new Ophthalmology department currently in the planning stage for the Scarborough site. The post-holder will be a key stakeholder in the future development of ophthalmology services. The core duties involve taking high quality diagnostic tests to help Clinicians diagnose, monitor and treat Ophthalmic conditions.
If you are an organised and efficient individual with a keen interest in Ophthalmic Imaging, technology within Healthcare & pathology and anatomy of the eye, this could be the job you have been looking for.
Responsibilities
* Perform clinically useful OCT scans and fundus photographs using specialist equipment.
* Potentially undertake biometry, visual fields, visual acuity testing and dilating eye drops as required.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team including Photographers, Clinicians and Nurses. Demonstrate strong teamwork and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Maintain high standards of patient care and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in general photography, fundus photography and OCT scans is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
* Proficiency in using Heidelberg Spectralis, Kowa and Optos is desirable.
* Technical mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient-centred care.
* Ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure.
