Tradewind Recruitment are working with a high-performing primary school in Westminster looking for a reliable, confident and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to support small groups of pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs. This is a full-time role in a well-led school that values structure, teamwork and strong relationships.
Role Overview
Leading small-group support sessions for pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation, behaviour challenges, anxiety and trauma
Delivering targeted interventions that build resilience, social awareness and problem-solving skills
Using clear, consistent behaviour-management and de-escalation strategies
Adapting tasks and resources to keep pupils focused, engaged and progressing
Promoting teamwork, positive peer interactions and growing independence
Working alongside teachers, the SENCO and external specialists to keep support plans on trackWhat We're Looking For
Solid experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs
A calm, steady presence with strong communication and boundary-setting skills
Transferable experience from youth work, coaching, mentoring, care or similar roles
Confidence in managing group dynamics and maintaining a structured environment
Willingness to learn new approaches and take on ongoing CPD
