Job Description:
We are seeking a Packaging Technologist with strong technical knowledge and commercial acumen to join a leading cosmetics and skincare products company in South West England.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of component manufacture and decoration, with proven experience in packaging technology, materials, and applications. Your role will involve supporting the brand through developing packaging from both technical and commercial perspectives, with a focus on sustainability.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting packaging testing and quality investigations
* Sourcing packaging with commercial and sustainable considerations and assessing feasibility with production teams
* Managing cross-functional communication and expectations
* Participating in print passes and first production runs
* Collaborating with the quality team on issues and complaints
* Managing packaging projects from a technical and commercial standpoint
* Implementing cost-saving strategies
* Coordinating line trials and PR runs
* Handling artwork briefs and approvals
* Creating packaging specifications
* Monitoring costs and budgets, advising on deviations
* Providing project updates and solutions to challenges
* Engaging with sustainability initiatives and innovation
* Supporting continuous improvement processes
* Providing technical expertise and attending supplier meetings
