The Department
Royalties are responsible for checking the completeness and accuracy of our authors’ royalty statements as received from publishers, along with providing detailed analysis of the statements for our literary agents.
Main Purpose of Job
To provide admin support to the Royalties Department
Main Duties
* Collating, scanning and filing all incoming home/foreign royalty statements to the agency
* Inputting all royalty statements received onto a bespoke reporting system
* Compiling and sending a weekly email of received royalty statements to agents/assistants
* Completing author royalty charts (trackers) for key clients to ensure the completeness of statements received
* Dealing with requests from agents and clients re royalties as required
* Inputting information onto the invoice log to enable invoice generation
* Chasing and obtaining missing royalty statements from co-agents, publishers, etc
* Other ad hoc duties as required
Experience and Knowledge Required
* Someone who enjoys and is confident in working with numbers. Any experience with royalties or royalty statements a major advantage
* A team player
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Advanced skills using databases and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
* Strong written and spoken communication skills – confident dealing with high profile, external clients. Any familiarity with contracts, or contractual wording is an advantage
* High level of accuracy and good attention to detail
* Office experience useful, particularly in finance related posts. However, this is not an accountancy position, but instead requires lateral thinking and a degree of initiative
