Purpose of the Role
To provide efficient, friendly, and high-quality support within the staff catering facilities at a prestigious banking head office in Edinburgh. The Catering Assistant will ensure that food and beverage services are delivered to the highest standards, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the catering operation.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of hot and cold food and beverages.
* Ensure counters, dining areas, and kitchen spaces are kept clean, tidy, and well-stocked throughout service.
* Replenish food and drink items as required, following portion control and food safety standards.
* Provide excellent customer service to all staff and visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.
* Operate tills and handle transactions accurately, if required.
* Support the Chef Manager and catering team in delivering functions, hospitality, and special events.
* Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and company compliance procedures.
* Report any equipment faults, shortages, or incidents to the Chef Manager or Supervisor.
* Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient catering service at all times.
