Job Overview
* Protect our customers’ property, people, and assets by delivering security services in accordance with published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes.
* Deliver results that meet or exceed key performance indicators / Service Level Agreements, ensuring accountability and contributing to contract retention.
* Undertake continuous training for self‑development and maintain all required licences.
Main Duties – Operations
* Ensure compliance with all policies, UK law and guidance bodies.
* Complete all tasks defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
* Review and suggest amendments to Assignment Instructions to improve service.
* Hold a front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence; keep licences renewed 16 weeks before expiry.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
Training
* Complete all required competency training sessions.
* Engage in continuous professional development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Utilise technology to achieve key objectives and build job knowledge.
* Ensure licence renewal 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative, involving others if situations become threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with customers.
* Record incidents promptly in a notebook for the Incident Report process.
* Maintain schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the stipulated times in the AI’s.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre for all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience.
* SIA Licence.
* SC Clearance desirable.
