Job Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to carry out planned and reactive drainage tasks safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This includes diagnosing and resolving drainage issues, performing maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
* Operate CCTV camera equipment.
* Complete drainage surveys and technical reports and cascade all key data/photos to relevant personnel.
* Diagnose and identify faults and failures with equipment and systems, provide solutions, and escalation where necessary.
* Repair and maintain sewage systems, drain/gullet cleaning, pump stations, etc.
* Clear blockages using high-pressure water jetting and other methods.
* Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken, including daily work sheets and site before/after photos.
* Ensure Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
* Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and client satisfaction.
* Participate in the out‑of‑hour service on a rota basis, on average 1 week in 4 weeks.
Essential Requirements
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
* Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
* Prioritise all allocated work sensibly and efficiently.
* Great team player with ability to work on own initiative.
* Experience using jetting equipment, CCTV survey systems, and drainage repair tools.
* Confident using handheld IT equipment – basic understanding of Excel, Outlook and Word.
* Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
* Full industry recognised qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* CSCS Card or equivalent.
Desirable Requirements
* Previous experience in drainage maintenance (domestic, commercial or industrial).
* City and Guilds Confined Space certification.
* High-pressure water jetting qualification.
* First Aid certificate.
* Asbestos Awareness certificate.
Terms and Conditions of Employment
* The role involves working 45 hours per week with flexibility in days/hours, working away, early starts, late finishes and some weekend work.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hour service on a rota basis (approximately 1 week in 6 weeks).
* Regular overtime available.
