Job Summary
We are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist to join our in‑house clinical team at Heath Farm School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, clarify your roles and responsibilities, and hold a psychological caseload with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician. You will also contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neuro‑diversity or SEMH needs. Work within the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, hold a caseload, and collaborate with the education team and other professionals. Contribute to service development, staff training and consultation. Maintain a person‑centred, safeguarding culture and uphold the values of the organisation.
Qualifications
- Registered member of HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist.
- Evidence of recognised professional qualification as Psychologist.
- Relevant previous experience in related settings or with related client group.
- Experience of effective multi‑disciplinary working (with clinical and non‑clinical, internal and external agencies).
- Experience of effectively communicating with and working with families, relatives and carers.
- Experience of effectively working across system levels within an organisation (service development, group and individual levels).
- Experience of working via a model of assess, plan, do and review.
- Experience of effectively using consultation as a method of service delivery.
- Adequate competence in all core areas of psychological practice, meeting HCPC practice standards.
- Knowledge of client group and their needs.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and neuro‑diversity.
- Ability to develop formulations and use these to inform clinical intervention plans and recommendations for others.
- Ability to develop and deliver training to different cohorts.
- Ability to write coherent and accurate clinical records, including observation records, consultation records, reports and intervention plans.
- Excellent communication skills with complex matters and ideas in complex situations.
- Effective IT skills, or aptitude to learn IT skills, to use core computer programmes and platforms.
- Ability to work effectively with a range of professionals and problem‑solve collaboratively to achieve excellent service development outcomes.
- Ongoing evidence of CPD.
- Ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness and outcomes.
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple work demands and meet deadlines.
- Undertake relevant group induction training on commencement.

- Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working with specific client group (e.g. neuro‑diverse and/or social, emotional and mental health) in schools and/or residential care settings.
- Experience of providing supervision to others.
- Working knowledge of current philosophies and principles underpinning services for those within the specific client group.
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group.
