We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Structural and Geotechnical -Civils River Infrastructure team based in Bristol.
Location: Bristol
Hours: 40 hours per week some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: Starting form £36,000 per annum

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join Kier Design's growing River Infrastructure team. You'll support the delivery of civil infrastructure and river engineering projects, developing safe, buildable solutions that meet client requirements.
You'll work within a collaborative in-house consultancy, contributing to projects for key clients including the Environment Agency, Severn Trent and Mining Remediation Authority.
Are you
An experienced civil engineer with a background in infrastructure or river engineering?
Comfortable supporting design delivery and applying sound engineering judgement?
Confident working within a team to deliver safe, buildable engineering solutions?
Passionate about developing your skills and working towards professional chartership?
A strong collaborator who enjoys working with clients and stakeholders?
Do you
Have experience in design delivery within civil infrastructure or related disciplines?
Bring at least 3 years' postgraduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similar?
Apply sound judgement when managing technical risk and uncertainty?
Contribute to proposals, design solutions and value engineering opportunities?
Want to work towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g. CEng MICE)?
Hold a full UK driving licence?

What will you be responsible for?
As an Design Engineer, you'll support the delivery of schemes within the Kier Design team, including:
Supporting the delivery of civil infrastructure and river engineering designs
Reviewing client requirements and contributing to technical solutions
Assisting with fee proposals and project delivery activities
Coordinating with engineers and technicians within the design team
Ensuring designs are compliant with CDM Regulations, SHEMS and QMS requirements
Supporting project performance, including programme, budget and change control
Developing alternative design solutions to enhance project outcomes
What are we looking for?
This role of Design Engineer is great for you if you:
Have experience in civil infrastructure design delivery
Are Confident using your own judgement to manage technical risk and uncertainty
Are Comfortable developing skills and working in new technical areas with team support
Have a minimum 3 years' postgraduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similar
Are working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g. CEng MICE)
Have a full UK driving licence
