About Bow
At Bow, we have a team of around 800 colleagues producing sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls, and salads for major UK retailers such as Sainsbury's, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, and BP Wild Bean Café.
What you'll be doing
Shift: 4 On - 4 Off nights, 5pm - 5am
As a Quality Manager, your role will be to lead and coordinate the quality assurance teams to deliver service improvements aligned with operational needs concerning safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements.
1. Direct the team to implement the quality management system, including internal audits, to ensure compliance with customer, legislative, divisional, and strategic standards.
2. Support external audits by providing operational information and demonstrating practices to meet customer requirements.
3. Develop the capability of the Quality Assurance team through strategic initiatives.
4. Monitor departmental KPIs and adjust activities to meet targets.
5. Plan resource utilization and oversee quality assurance tasks.
6. Lead projects to enhance business effectiveness and cost efficiency.
7. Build production capability and understanding to meet technical standards.
8. Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environment policies.

* Degree-level education with a Food specialism or equivalent experience.
* Previous internal audit experience.
* Intermediate Food Hygiene Level 3 and Level 3 Health and Safety certificates.
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, and related IT packages.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles and allergen awareness, including labelling and nutritional considerations.
* Experience in shelf-life determination and micro-awareness.
* Understanding of hygiene, disinfection, and risk assessment principles.
* Basic knowledge of legal labelling and weight legislation.
* Familiarity with technical KPIs.
