AI Automation Engineer
Location: Hybrid
Employment: Full-time
Category: Operations / Automation / AI
About the Role
We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to analyze business workflows, identify automation opportunities, and build end-to-end automated systems using tools like n8n, AI models, and APIs. This role sits at the intersection of operations, engineering, and AI—ideal for someone who loves solving problems, designing efficient systems, and using technology to remove friction from workflows.
You will collaborate across departments to map processes, develop intelligent automations, and ensure systems run reliably at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Design
* Map and document existing workflows across operational teams
* Identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities
* Translate business requirements into clear automation logic
Automation Development
* Build, test, and deploy automations primarily using n8n
* Integrate APIs, databases, webhooks, CRMs, support tools, and internal systems
* Create modular, scalable automation architectures with logging, monitoring, and error handling
* Develop custom nodes or scripts when required (JavaScript/Python)
AI & LLM Automation
* Integrate AI models (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) into workflows
* Build intelligent agents for data extraction, routing, classification, and decision workflows
* Implement prompt engineering, function-calling logic, and vector database usage when needed
Data & System Integration
* Work with data sources such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Airtable, Notion, or spreadsheets
* Parse and transform data in JSON, SQL, or via custom parsing logic
* Ensure clean, consistent data flows between systems
Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor automations for performance and reliability
* Build alert systems, dashboards, or logs
* Continuously optimize workflows based on real-world usage
* Maintain documentation for all automations and processes
Required Skills & Experience
* 2–5+ years in automation engineering, technical operations, solutions engineering, or similar
* Strong hands‑on experience with n8n (or Make/Zapier with willingness to convert)
* Proficiency working with REST APIs, OAuth, and webhooks
* Ability to design complex, multi‑step workflows
* Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
* Understanding of prompt engineering & function‑based task design
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to collaborate with non‑technical teams and convert needs into automated solutions
* Excellent documentation habits
Bonus / Nice‑to‑Have Experience
* JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python scripting
* Creating custom n8n nodes or extending platform functionality
* Experience with CRMs, support systems, spreadsheets, or operations tooling
* Experience with databases and SQL
* Knowledge of BPMN/process modeling
* Experience building production automations at scale
What We’re Looking For
* Someone who loves improving systems and streamlining work
* A builder who can take a messy process and turn it into a clean, automated workflow
* Proactive mindset—always looking for ways to make things faster, smarter, and more efficient
* Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment and handling multiple projects
Why Join Us
* Work on impactful, high‑leverage automations that transform how our business operates
* Use the latest AI tools and automation platforms
* Collaborate across product, operations, sales, support, and leadership
* Freedom to experiment, innovate, and shape our automation strategy
