Our Team:
The credit strategy team is responsible for the design and delivery of best in market unsecured lending, credit strategies and policies across the credit lifecycle for Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Overdrafts and small business lending.
Reporting to the Head of Unsecured Credit Risk, youll be a member of the Unsecured Credit Risk leadership team and will lead the efforts of a highly skilled team of credit risk managers and analysts
The Role:
* Taking ownership and optimisation of strategies covering the credit lifecycle (Origination, cut-off management, affordability assessment, limit management, account management, further lending criteria and cross product pre-approval)
* Proactively managing risk and reward of all credit strategies & policies to ensure performance meets guardrails, risk appetite by leveraging internal and external data and use of scoring models
* Managing strategy approval through the appropriate governance framework and with key stakeholders
* Effective influencing and ongoing management of the relationship with key stakeholders including Commercial, Finance and Operations together with other Risk teams
* Production and presentation of credit risk performance and key trends suitable for sharing with senior committees within the Bank and externally with regulators
* Supporting and driving positive customer outcomes, identifying opportunities for automation and optimisation
* Representing the bank in key industry forums both driving the Group agenda and leveraging engagement and benchmarking to remain competitive
* Engaging and motivating colleagues across a high performing Unsecured Credit Risk team
We need you to have:
* Significant experience of unsecured credit risk lending and developing strategies in a consumer lending organisation
* Ability to condense and simplify complex information to brief and influence senior stakeholders with experience in data analysis
* Experience of building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
* Proven experience of translating complex methodologies and principles into meaningful insight for senior leadership and other non-technical stakeholders
* Capability to support multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment and prioritise effectively to manage various management team / other stakeholder expectations
* Experience of coaching and developing team members to ensure delivery to a consistently high standard

* Knowledge of IFRS9, impairments & IRB
