We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and presentation skills, is passionate about road safety and community engagement, and has experience in education, training, or public outreach. The candidate should hold a relevant qualification or experience in road safety, education, or transport. They must be able to work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders, and be proactive, adaptable, and creative in their approach to education.
Role: Transport Safety Educational Officer
You will play a vital role in developing and delivering engaging educational programs that promote safe road use. Working closely with schools, businesses, and community groups, you will provide training sessions, workshops, and campaigns aimed at reducing road-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and deliver road safety workshops and presentations for various audiences.
2. Develop educational materials and resources tailored to different age groups.
3. Collaborate with local authorities, schools, and organisations to promote road safety awareness.
4. Manage and deliver Bikeability training.
5. Support road safety initiatives and campaigns.
6. Provide expert advice on best practices in road safety education.
The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This position involves regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
