An Excellent new opportunity has arisen to work as an Empowerment Advisor Support in an award winning, trauma informed, dynamic, expanding, high profile, women’s Charity - Tomorrow’s Women (TW). TW delivers a comprehensive, women’s centred approach to minimising female imprisonment and offending. It does this by offering a safe ‘women only’ environment and by reducing the personal, social, health and economic disadvantages experienced by women through working in partnership to improve access to all relevant services and community resources, tailoring target interventions to the individual women’s need.
We are a charity for women, run by women, offering support with a range of issues including domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, wellbeing & confidence, and social inclusion. We have a passion to support and empower women and girls from all backgrounds facing any personal issues, to live equal and fulfilled lives.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to the aims of the Charity, to tackle the factors that lead to offending behaviour, support choices that improve women's life chances and be familiar with the recommendations of the Corston Report.
Main Purpose of the role
The purpose of the role will be to engage with and support female clients some of whom are within the Criminal Justice System, to support and facilitate the removal of barriers for women for them to progress safely in their lives.
The Empowerment Advisor Support will be a key player in the core staff team. The successful post holder will require excellent communication skills, demonstrable ability to work under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries. Additionally, the candidate will be able to work independently using initiative and in a timely manner.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Working with women in a supportive motivational capacity
* Assisting the Empowerment Advisor’s
* To complete new referral forms with women.
* Signposting to relevant agencies
* Add to the TW timetable and keep up to date with what’s coming and on.
* To assess women’s barriers and to work with them to develop a holistic and in-depth work focused action plan with defined activities which the individual needs to complete within agreed timescales.
* To maintain a safe environment within the community setting.
* Working closely and intensively with individuals to gain trust and ‘buy in’ to proposed actions.
* Ensuring that evidence requirements are met in order to meet Progress measures.
* Ensuring that data sharing protocols are strictly adhered to.
* Responsible for achievement of all targets set by line management according to both qualitative and quantitative criteria.
* To liaise with other agencies and stakeholders to understand and utilise other sources of support and advice to help support women progress with their lives.
* The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
