Curatorial E
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Curatorial E (SO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate – £17.94 per/hr
· Location – DfC, HED Heritage State Care Causeway
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
·Post holder will be required to:
·Provide professional advice to deliver appropriate management, conservation and presentation of State Care Monuments; to include specifying, monitoring and reporting on repairs, monitoring expenditure and contributing to the provision of information for the public.
·Completion of cyclical condition surveys.
·Completion of cyclical site risk assessments.
·Completion of curatorial inspections at State Care Monuments.
·Application for statutory consents & internal SCHB processes.
·Provision of archaeological services for ground works where required.
·Liaison with colleagues across the Division, especially State Care Operations Brancha and Conservation Works Team.
·Write business cases where required.
·Manage the above activities in liaison with the Curatorial D Senior Archaeologist as appropriate, to ensure they are conducted in line with relevant DfC policies and procedures.
·Assist the Curatorial Grade D/Senior Archaeologist in the development & implementation of policy by carrying out targeted research & maintaining familiarity with policy developments, changing legislation & new initiatives elsewhere in UK & Europe.
Essential Criteria:
1.Honours degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology and a minimum of two year’s field
experience, which can be a composite over the last five years.
2.A full driving licence and access to a form of transport is required to fulfil the duties of
the post.
Desired Experience and Qualification:
3.Additional years field experience to include senior field positions – site director/senior site supervisor. Experience of building conservation works.
