Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and those requiring additional care, including individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks aimed at promoting independence and comfort in both home and care facility settings.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
* Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
* Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
* Help with mobility and physical exercises, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Document patient care activities accurately and report any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
* Provide support for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia through behaviour management techniques.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
* Experience in senior care, hospice care, or caregiving is an advantage.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours associated with dementia or Alzheimer's care effectively.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
