Job description
The Senior Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with exceptional culinary skills and a commitment to maintaining strict health and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus, incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing direction, training, and motivation to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared to the restaurant’s specifications and standards.
* Take a hands-on role in food preparation, plating, and expediting during service.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in line with health and safety regulations.
* Oversee stock management, ordering, and inventory control to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
* Assist in developing new dishes and refining existing menu items.
* Handle any kitchen issues effectively and calmly, maintaining composure under pressure.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume restaurant.
* Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
* Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications.
