Operations Engineer – Machine Safety
Location
Barrow-in-Furness. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
Salary
Circa £37,091 + depending on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Providing technical support to facilitate and record the completion of PUWER assessments on workshop equipment, mobile plant, all types of cranes and electric hoists, roller shutter doors, cantilever gates and barriers, radiological, robotic, bespoke development work equipment, and more.
* Possessing sound working knowledge of all Health and Safety regulations, relevant engineering standards, and machinery directive.
* Providing timely and consistent PUWER information, advice and governance to support department managers across site to support the safe, legal, and compliant operation of work equipment.
Essential
Your skills and experiences
* Experience in Electrical/Mechanical role in a machining environment.
* Ability to interpret technical information and drawings.
Desirable
* Working towards NEBOSH certification.
* Good understanding of engineering standards.
* Maintenance background.
* Previous experience of PUWER.
* SHE background.

The PUWER Team
You will be joining a small team of 4 members and have an opportunity to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and a wide range of other teams within the business such as site engineering, site authority, and maintenance and production. Your role provides an opportunity to work with bespoke equipment and you will be able to influence strategies, suggest improvements and implement changes. Your success will be recognised by management, enabling career development and exciting progression opportunities.
