Weighbridge Operative
(Maternity Cover - with potential to extend)
We are seeking a Weighbridge Operative who will also have administration responsibilities on a day-to-day basics. The Weighbridge operative will come from a waste management or recycling background. to cover a maternity leave position. This is a highly customer-facing role and an integral part of the business, requiring confidence, professionalism, and a firm approach when needed. The role:
* Operate the weighbridge accurately, ensuring all weights and documentation are correctly recorded
* Act as the main point of contact for customers, dealing confidently and professionally face-to-face and by phone
* Process customer orders and complete all associated administration accurately
* Manage customer queries, disputes, and complaints, using an assertive and professional manner where required
* Promote company services while ensuring compliance with waste management procedures
* Prepare and manage invoices
* Provide administrative support to the logistics team and management
* Maintain a professional and organised office environment
The candidate:
* Proven experience in waste management and weighbridge operations (essential)
* Strong customer-facing experience with a confident and assertive communication style
* Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient IT skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Hours of work:
* Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 17:00pm
* 1 in 4 Saturdays - half day
* 42.5 hours per week
Pay Rate:
* £12.50 per hour
