Senior Lawyer – Flood and Coastal Risk Management and Planning Team (Job ID 32054)

As part of a dedicated team, you will advise the Environment Agency’s National Infrastructure Team in the development consent order process and more widely in respect of changes to both the planning and the national infrastructure legislative regimes. Your role will involve advising on planning law, infrastructure planning law and environmental law to support sustainable development and protect the environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic legal advice on environmental, planning and national infrastructure matters.
* Assisting in the development consent order process and related legislative regimes.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to manage flood risk and coastal planning.
* Influencing stakeholders and communicating complex legal concepts to professional audiences.
Experience & Skills Required
* Grade 6 role – 3+ years PQE, comfortable managing a caseload independently.
* Proven track record in public, planning or environmental law.
* Confident, credible communicator with strong analytical skills.
* Curious and proactive, able to influence and persuade stakeholders.
