Job Overview
The post holder will work as part of the team to provide an effective and efficient receptionist and administrative support service to the ward.
Internally, the post holder will develop effective working relationships with the Maple ward Multidisciplinary Team, Maple ward Management Team, Site Management, and ASPH support services.
Externally, this includes patients, family members/carers, and transport.
Main Duties
Key responsibilities include:
* Answering telephone and coordinating messages, initiating action accordingly.
* Receiving visitors to the ward and ensuring they are directed to the appropriate areas.
* Assisting with patients’ property checks, receipts of property, and safe storage as necessary.
* Assisting the ward sister/charge nurse in monitoring furniture, fittings, and equipment.
* Processing requisitions for repair as necessary.
* Assisting with monitoring the physical environment and tidiness of the ward.
* Maintaining/assisting with ordering food and other supplies.
* Always acting in a professional manner to uphold good standards of conduct.
* Supporting the ward and organization by carrying out other duties that fit within the job scope.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
* Education to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Previous administrative work experience.
* Working with a team and previous hospital experience within a clerical function.
Skills and Attitude
* Effective communication skills.
* Ability to organize work and prioritize workload.
* Excellent keyboard skills.
* Flexible attitude and behavior to support team working and delivery of objectives.
