Role Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care to gain experience working in a community setting (1.0 WTE). The post holder will work predominantly in the community setting with flexibility to work within the whole of the Specialist Palliative Care service as required. This is a 7‑day service which runs from 08:00 to 20:00.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist palliative care to patients with complex problems.
* Act as a specialist resource to generic health and social care professionals.
* Deliver education and training to develop palliative care practice of other staff.
* Give advice and support to patients, their families and healthcare professionals.
* Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Fundamental post‑registration experience in palliative, cancer or non‑cancer long‑term condition nursing.
* Ability to demonstrate a full holistic assessment and understanding of symptom‑control principles.
* Excellent communication skills, highly motivated, and able to demonstrate an understanding of specialist palliative care in a community setting.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development; experience of teaching is desirable.
* Must hold a valid driving licence and access to a car.
