We are currently supporting a well-established Social Justice and Housing team with their recruitment of a Housing Support Worker in Yeovil.
Your new role
We are seeking a Housing Support Worker to join a well-established Social Justice and Housing team in Yeovil on a temp-to-perm basis. The main focus of this role is to provide support to residents by creating person-centred support plans. You will meet with residents, discuss support needs, and help them meet their objectives; complete Support and Safety Plans, and work with Community Probation Practitioners and Court Staff to support residents. You will also assist residents with applying for Housing Benefits and paying rent.
To ensure our properties meet standards in repair and cleanliness, you will need a keen eye for detail to ensure properties are clean, tidy, and repairs are reported and addressed. You will manage a number of properties, working as part of a team to deliver services across your region.
To succeed, you must have access to your own vehicle and business insurance. Please note, this role is NOT a personal care role.
Working hours
30 hours per week, with shift patterns and flexibility to be discussed during your interview. The working hours are between 08:00 and 22:00, Monday to Friday, and until 17:00 on Saturdays, on a rolling rotational basis.
Requirements
Experience in social housing, knowledge of Support Planning, welfare benefits, and Universal Credit will be advantageous. The role requires an Enhanced Adult DBS check and HMPPS Barring checks. If you already have these on the update service, please inform us during registration.
