About the Role
Our client, a reputable school in Kent, is seeking a IT Network Support Technician to join their team on a temporary basis. This role plays a key part in supporting ICT across the school, ensuring systems run smoothly and staff and students are well supported.
Immediately available candidates will be prioritised.
The successful candidate must hold a valid Enhanced DBS, or be willing to get one as the role involves working within a safeguarding environment and is required to start immediately.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team at a well-regarded school. It is initially a temporary post with the potential to become permanent in the new academic year.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
* Provide first-line technical support to staff and students
* Monitor, support, and maintain the school’s ICT infrastructure
* Manage and update the IT helpdesk, allocating tasks and tracking progress
* Support teachers and students in the technical use of ICT equipment and platforms
* Maintain and back up data in accordance with school policies
* Update and manage the ICT asset register
* Administer and support online services such as Office 365, Moodle, and GCSE Pod
* Assist in managing the school’s CCTV and Access Control systems (under guidance from the IT Manager)
* Ensure systems are compliant with licensing agreements and data protection policies
* Provide basic ICT training for staff
* Support school events, inset days, and examination periods with IT setup and troubleshooting
Essential Requirements
* Enhanced DBS certificate (must be valid and in place prior to starting)
* Experience in a similar ICT support or technician role
* Confident in supporting Windows and cloud-based platforms such as Office 365
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* A proactive and collaborative approach to working in a school environment
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in a school or education setting
* Knowledge of safeguarding protocols, GDPR, and ICT policies within schools
* Familiarity with systems such as IP phones, CCTV, and access control
* Flexibility to occasionally work out-of-hours during school events or key academic dates
