Job Summary
We are looking to enhance our Facilities Team through the appointment of a Porter/Maintenance colleague responsible for the delivery of a highly effective portering service to the patients and staff within Spencer Private Hospitals.

We offer enhancements for Saturdays and any work between 8pm and 7.30am on weekdays at time +30% of your basic salary rate. For Sundays and Bank Holidays at time + 60% of your basic salary rate.

Main Duties of the Job
1. To be responsible for the delivery of a highly effective portering service to the patients and staff within The Spencer Private Hospital.
2. Assist Site Supervisor and Team Leader undertaking inspections and reviewing maintenance requirements.
3. To undertake general maintenance tasks as per planned maintenance programme.
4. To undertake driver duties as and when required (if appropriate) in the SPH vehicle between SPH sites and staff locations within the SPH region of operations.

Job Title: Porter / Maintenance
Department: Facilities
Responsible To: Facilities Team Leader
Accountable To: Site Supervisor
Job Purpose:
1. To be responsible for the delivery of a highly effective portering service to the patients and staff within The Spencer Private Hospital.
2. Assist Site Supervisor and Team Leader undertaking inspections and reviewing maintenance requirements.
3. To undertake general maintenance tasks as per planned maintenance programme.
4. To undertake driver duties as and when required (if appropriate) in the SPH vehicle between SPH sites and staff locations within the SPH region of operations.
Key Relationships:
Line Manager is the Facilities Team Leader, Team Leader, work closely with colleagues in Facilities team, Matron, Outpatients manager, Clinical teams, Customer Services team, working relationship with all Internal/External services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial: To maintain the off duty with effective use of time, assist with the monitoring and control of resources allocated to the ward to provide the best value for patients, and be mindful of waste management and report any non-compliances.
2. Business Development: To assist with the management and implementation of changes, monitor and be aware of any problems with hospital building and/or equipment and liaise with maintenance, security, or administration departments, and contribute towards creating professional relationships and behaviours with staff.
3. Quality: To assist with gathering, recording, assessing, and storing relevant information, contribute constructively and appropriately in team meetings and working groups, undertake a broad range of unsupervised routine maintenance and minor improvement works, participate in in-house training sessions, and complete all required mandatory training.
4. Workforce: To participate in the induction of new portering staff and identify any concerns about the quality of work.
5. Clinical: To convey patients around the Hospital site in a friendly and purposeful manner, maintain a timely collection of rubbish and linen, ensure timely delivery of all patient equipment, monitor wheelchairs and trolleys, maintain a high standard of cleanliness, manage the safe collection and transport of clinical waste, assist with security incidents, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
