We are an entrepreneurial family who have taken our passion for collectibles and transformed it into a successful business, running livestream sales on Whatnot and a presence on a variety of social media platforms. With the consistent growth and success we have experienced in the past year, we need to bring in new skills to continue this growth.
Job Summary
We are looking for an organised and motivated sales and packing assistant to play a key role in driving forward our small family business, with a clear progression pathways for the committed individual.
At its core, the job entails 15-20 hours per week picking and packing orders for our livestream sales. Other duties will include creating high-quality product listings and other preparation tasks, sorting and organising stock, assisting with livestream sales, and customer service.
Depending on skills and experience, there is potential for development into roles in other areas of the business, including but not limited to:
* record keeping, bookkeeping and accounts including paid training if required
* social media content creation - planning and posting regular content with high quality photos, video and audio, or editing.
* marketing and advertising
* product development and design
* website and systems development
* direct role in sales and purchasing
Candidates must have excellent organisation skills and the ability to pay attention to detail in their packing and sorting duties, while working to deadlines.
Extra relevant skills and the willingness and ability to learn new skills to the business will be well rewarded as you will have a direct and tangible impact on the success of the business.
Duties
* Preparing parcels by printing labels, picking, and neatly and securely packing products for shipment.
* Creating high quality photos and product descriptions.
* Checking, sorting, organising and storing stock.
* Responding to messages from customers and addressing any issues swiftly and professionally.
* Occasional paid travel and out-of-hours to fairs or auctions by agreement.
* Attending, assisting and moderating livestream sales
* Other duties consistent with the above.

Essential person specification
* No experience with collectibles is required, but an interest and ability to learn and retain detailed information about the products is essential.
* High grades in Maths and English at N5/GCSE/equivalent level.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while working to deadlines.
* Excellent language, communication and customer service skills.
* Excellent technology skills with a variety of software including office, broadcasting and social media.
* Excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
* Enhanced PVG Disclosure Scotland checks (the successful applicant will be reimbursed)
Desirable person specification
* Experience in sales or packing.
* Knowledge of investment, coins, stamps or other collectibles.
* Full, clean UK driving license, and ideally own car (business miles paid).
* Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as suits the needs of the business.
* Skills or experience in coding and using spreadsheets including advanced formulae and macros.
* Training, qualifications or experience in bookkeeping, accounting or taxes.
* Additional relevant business skills, e.g. marketing, advertisement or product design.
* Additional sales or social media skills.
* Photography, video editing or streaming skills.
Additional details
Pay is negotiable and variable based on skills and experience. National Living Wage is guaranteed.
Hours are negotiable from 20 to 40 hr/week. Especially important are mornings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Core hours will be agreed and fixed.
Place of work is primarily within employer's home, near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. Assistance with travel to and from work may be available depending on location. Pick up and drop off from the train station in Stonehaven, or the bus stop in Newtonhill or Chapelton can be provided.
Start date will be 31st October at the latest.
