Pastoral Lead
Location: Mansfield
Salary: £15.37 to £16.78 per hour (£27,463 to £29,982 annually, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Lead to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, development and success of young people.
This is a pivotal position within a specialist education setting, working with students who may have SEND, complex needs or additional barriers to learning. You will help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels valued and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day pastoral and wellbeing support
* Deliver 1:1 interventions and tutorial sessions
* Support behaviour, attendance and safeguarding processes
* Respond to incidents through debriefs, mediation and conflict resolution
* Work closely with staff, families and external agencies
* Lead student voice initiatives (e.g. student council, feedback activities)
* Support PSHE delivery and whole-school wellbeing programmes
* Attend multi-agency and safeguarding meetings
* Monitor and record pastoral data to inform support strategies
* Provide cover and support leadership responsibilities where needed

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Qualified to Level 3 (or above) in a relevant subject
* Confident supporting young people with SEND, ASC or mental health needs
* Experienced in a pastoral, wellbeing or similar role
* Knowledgeable in safeguarding within education
* Calm, resilient and able to manage challenging situations
* Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation
* A strong team player with excellent communication skills
Experience within a school, alternative provision or college setting is desirable but not essential.
