The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership role will define and lead Formthotics™ global clinical and scientific direction. This role sits at the intersection of clinical practice, product innovation, research and professional education, offering the opportunity to influence lower limb health at a global level.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure that all clinical guidance, claims and educational materials are evidence‑based and ethically sound
* Maintain clinical grounding to ensure real‑world relevance

* Provide clinical leadership for product design and development
* Integrate biomechanics, force modulation and neuromuscular principles into product innovation

Research & Evidence

* Develop and lead a global clinical research strategy
* Establish partnerships with universities and research institutions
* Translate research into practical tools clinicians can use to demonstrate patient outcomes
* Ensure that evidence supports regulatory compliance and professional adoption

Education & Professional Engagement

* Develop a globally scalable CPD‑accredited clinical education framework
* Create high‑quality clinical resources including webinars, research summaries and whitepapers
* Support a network of clinical educators and key opinion leaders internationally
* Maintain the independence and credibility of professional education

Clinical Governance

* Provide final clinical oversight of medical and scientific claims
* Support regulatory, risk and post‑market processes
* Ensure patient outcomes and ethical standards remain central to decision‑making.

About You

You are an experienced clinician with deep expertise in lower limb health and movement science, operating confidently across clinical, academic and commercial environments.

Essential

* Clinical qualification in podiatry, physiotherapy, sports medicine, orthopaedics or related discipline
* Significant clinical experience in lower limb health
* Strong ability to critically evaluate and apply research
* Experience working alongside product development and/or medical devices
* Excellent communication and influencing skills

Highly Desirable

* Experience working in regulated medical device environments (MDR / ISO 13485)
* Research leadership or active academic collaboration
* Experience designing and delivering clinical education programmes
* Exposure to global or multi‑market environments

Why Join Formthotics™?

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of orthotics by leading the clinical and scientific direction of a globally respected New Zealand brand.

Along with submitting your CV and cover letter, please give some thought to the question below – your thoughts will form part of the screening process if you are progressed to the next stage.

“What do you believe is the most misunderstood aspect of orthotic intervention in lower limb healthcare today, and how should clinicians think about it differently?”

Please contact Steve Kennedy or Rob Malpass for a confidential discussion on +64 3 366 4034.

Applications close on Sunday, 12 April 2026. Early applications are encouraged as we will be reviewing candidates as they apply.

To be considered for this role you need to have either New Zealand citizenship or residency, or Australian citizenship.

Formthotics™ – helping the world move better.

For a confidential discussion please contact Rob Malpass, EQ Consultants, on 021 225 3899.
