Are you an
experienced Buyer with a passion for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships? This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in ensuring project requirements are met across cost, quality, and delivery, while working on unique and challenging programmes.
What you'll be doing:
1. Purchasing goods, materials, components, or services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
2. Supporting operations and other departments by communicating supply issues that may impact projects.
3. Working closely with Programme and Production Managers to ensure the timely supply of goods, expediting deliveries when required.
4. Conducting cost analysis on new and existing items and supporting cost reduction activities.
5. Preparing reports and project updates as needed.
6. Researching new components and suppliers, preparing supplier nominations, and considering commercial constraints.
7. Negotiating contracts and improving supplier terms to secure cost savings using best-practice procurement methods.
8. Monitoring stock levels and determining appropriate order schedules.
9. Preparing and raising purchase orders and order schedules to support customer demand.
10. Building, maintaining, and managing supplier relationships, ensuring consistent communication.
11. Ensuring a professional and consistent approach to supplier engagement.
12. Ensuring compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures during negotiations and contract awards.
13. Resolving supplier issues related to price, quality, delivery, or invoicing.
14. Adhering to policies, procedures, and quality management standards (IATF 16949).
15. Maintaining awareness of safety policies and ensuring safe working practices.
16. Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
What we're looking for:
17. Minimum 1 year of procurement experience (motorsport experience desirable).
18. Minimum college-level education.
19. Strong knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial processes, and cost breakdowns.
20. Strong IT skills with advanced Excel abilities.
Work environment:
Primarily office-based, with occasional travel (around 10%) to customer sites, production facilities, or supplier locations. When visiting production environments, you may be exposed to machinery, equipment, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and varying temperatures.
