About The Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, specification, and implementation of new and existing electromechanical devices. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative hardware products, enhance existing designs, and ensure manufacturability, quality, and safety.

This role involves the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, validation, and preparation for manufacture. You’ll apply your engineering expertise to solve practical challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure our products meet technical and customer requirements.

You should have a practical, flexible, and self-motivated approach to your work, and feel comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Build and test prototypes, applying design-for-manufacture, repair, and safety principles.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation (CAD files, BOMs, wiring diagrams, manuals).
* Identify suppliers, manufacturing processes, and cost-effective production routes.
* Develop and implement test plans, QA/QC procedures, and safety validation for new and existing products.
* Conduct FMEA and risk analyses; document results and lead corrective actions to enhance product reliability and performance.
* Contribute to product development projects, ensuring time, cost and quality goals are met.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering-related field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
* Experience designing and manufacturing electro-mechanical devices.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
* Experience creating and maintaining detailed product documentation (specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions).
* Demonstrated ability to develop proposals for new products and improving existing designs.

Desirable Experience

* Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
* Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and technical risk management.
* Experience designing and executing test and validation procedures.
* Familiarity with product safety testing and quality assurance standards.
* Experience coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
