Our local authority client based in Uxbridge are urgently seeking an experienced Decant Officer.
*£22.98 an hour PAYE
Role Purpose
The Decant Team will form part of a wider multi-disciplinary regeneration hub working across the landlord service, the Council and its development partners to ensure that the Council’s strategic objectives are met in terms of providing new additional affordable homes within safe, attractive and well managed settings.
Operational Service Delivery
* Take responsibility for the creation and delivery of a caseload of person-centred decant plans and plans for returning tenants.
* Inform tenants of the service offer as an integral part of the decant process and encourage and support them to participate at a level and pace which maximises their engagement.
* Draft and issue statutory notices as directed in the context of decanting tenants.
* Follow operational practice in relating to the processing of Home Loss and Disturbance payments to residents and ensure appropriate records are maintained.
* Using the Council’s financial systems and approved contractors, arrange removals, disconnections / reconnections as necessary to decant tenants and enable returning tenants to move back with minimum rent loss to the Council.
* Undertake ongoing housing needs surveys to ensure that data is both accurate and up to date and supports the decant programme.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of delivering successful customer focused housing services within a busy social housing setting which are tailored to the needs of individuals.
* Demonstrable experience of managing a demanding caseload involving tenants with varying needs and underlying vulnerabilities.
* Demonstrable experience of undertaking surveys with residents, collecting and managing data securely.
* Proven experience of decanting residents as part of a major programme of work.
